A Kayaker Spotted a Strange Creature 4 Miles From Shore. When He Got Closer, He Couldn’t Believe His Eyes

If he paddled away now, the iguana would die. The current was dragging it further east, into the open ocean, where it had absolutely no chance.

Steve decided to take a risk. He pulled up close and extended his paddle. “Want a ride back to shore?” he asked. The iguana, as if understanding human speech, reached for the lifeline.

It tried to climb up, but it had no strength left. Its claws slipped. Steve carefully slid the paddle under the reptile’s belly, acting like an elevator.

Finally, the iguana scrambled onto the kayak. It was shaking and breathing heavily. Steve feared it might panic and bite him, or jump back into the deadly water.

But the animal did something amazing. It calmly crawled to the back of the kayak and sat on the cooler, as if it knew: this place was safe.
